How did I land on Surface Pattern Design?
Some of you may wonder, where did this idea to do #surfacepatterndesign begin? During one of my mat leaves I uploaded my teaching material I created onto a site called @teacherspayteachersand started earning very, very small amounts of passive earnings. So small, it's not worthy to be called passive income. The concept blew my mind though! Imagine creating something ONE time and getting repeat sales on the same thing, without needing to invest any more time into it. When I stumbled upon @spoonflower and learned about the concept of creating art and essentially getting paid passively over and over on something I created once, I was intrigued. The concept was the same. And better yet, it worked! It hardly feels worthy to be called a side hustle or main hustle. The hustle part is not running to the post office or dealing with customers, but more so with the internal dialogue of "yes I can"! This journey is just as much about me and my personal growth as it is about what earnings roll in. It's about taking a risk and finding the courage to try something big and pick myself up after small failures to keep moving toward the goal, about changing my mindset to believe that the process is just as essential as the end result. I told myself that it wasn't a matter of "if" I succeed, but "when", and part of that success are the ways I talk to myself along the way. Growth is hard and beautiful and you are worth the risk, friends!
